First-year, domestic students who have confirmed their admission to Miami will select one of sixteen summer orientation sessions, which begin June 4, 2013. See the menu of links in the left column for complete program details.

Online registration for Summer Orientation 2013 opened at 8am on March 20, 2013. Beginning in early March 2013, all confirmed, domestic first year students will receive a postcard with more information about how to sign up for Summer Orientation 2013 via the myMiami student portal website.  After logging into the myMiami portal, new students will see the option to register for Summer Orientation on the checklist in the upper-left corner of the screen.

Summer Orientation at Miami is designed for all first-year students, and consists of one-and-a-half days of programs and meetings with faculty, staff, and student leaders. Check in on Day 1 for Summer Orientation is from 9am-9:45am EST with the program beginning at 10am EST. Day 2 of Summer Orientation concludes around noon EST. We encourage family members to attend Summer Orientation with their student as we offer programs and sessions geared particularly toward family members and guests.

Orientation is required for incoming first year students, particularly because it serves as the vehicle for new student advising and course registration. Students who are unable to attend Summer Orientation must wait until late August to register for classes at August Orientation.
